The year 2013 till 2015 have been an uplifting and blissful period for our film industry, thanks to the back to back releases of exceptional movies like Waar, Bin Roye, Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, Na Maloom Afrad, Karachi se Lahore, Actor in Law and more which vigorously dazzled the hearts of masses and got critical acclaim at once. Jawani Phir Nai Ani, released in 2015 is declared the biggest movie of Pakistani box-office making as much as US$4.9 million globally.
After a decade or so, 2017 will be remembered as one of the darkest times for the reviving Pakistani cinema industry, mainly because of a dark path we all were unintentionally led on i.e. Sahir Lodhi’s new anime… I mean movie; Raasta.
If you are one of the few unlucky ones that had to go through this visual and audio torture in the name of a movie, you can feel my pain. And those who haven’t, zuroor koi naiki kaam ayi hogi apki.
India me Shiva Ji the Boss or Pakistan me Sahir Lodhi
Sahir Lodhi the multi talented persona he so firmly believes himself to be, played not only the lead actor’s role, he himself was the producer, director, screen writer, villain, anti-villain and what not. Thanks God he didn’t put on some lipstick and jhumkas for the role of “Maya”; the unlucky woman who played the role of the movie heroine.
Long story short, Raasta is yet another movie about a good guy gone rogue due to life’s continuous injustice, meets a desi girl and falls in crazy love, and ends up getting shot three times.
Be-Shak Duniya Makafaat e Amal hai.
The movie got roasted at the box-office and the actors too. Sahir Lodhi lost his marble over the dank humor and criticism on social media which ended up with emotional outbursts.
Before “Boss maine apko bola kya hai?” the most viral question used to be “Sahir Lodhi or China ka Shahrukh Khan?”
When asked this question instantly after his movie release he said: “I don’t know why people ask me this irrelevant question. Mein thak gaya hoon is sawaal se.”
“The worst part is that, in 11 years, no one has seen me. They wanted to see someone else and they have always seen someone else.” he added.
You ain’t John Cena Sahir. We see right through you. You are just too chicken to take criticism positively.
