Microwave Tea? Not our Cup of Tea

Microwave Tea? Not our Cup of Tea

One thing that unite Pakistanis is Our Love for Chai. There is no denying the fact that we all have preferences for chai ranging from doodh patti, Elaichi chai to Kashmiri Chai but a Microwave tea. However, Dr. Quan Vuong thinks otherwise.

Dr. Vuong, a food scientist from the University of Newcastle in Australia suggests that microwaving your cup of tea is the key to getting more health benefits from the beverage.  He said: “Microwaving is one of the advanced technologies to get more bioactive compounds from the products.”

Here’s Dr. Vuong’s recipe for best tasting microwave tea: Add your tea bag to a hot cup of water and microwave it for 30 seconds on half power. Now let it sit for a minute. This will help activate 80 percent of the caffeine, theanine and polyphenol compounds.

Now that would be a sheer blasphemy to a chai lover. There is nothing good about microwaving your tea. If you are trading health for taste, then a die-hard chai lover would definitely opt for latter. We don’t care about why Chai is good or not-so-good for our health.

Who drinks microwave tea anyway, unless there is no other option.

Chai has become the essence of our daily lives and we can’t help but have another cup of tea for every other reason. There is something about a well-cooked chai and a microwave tea can’t come even close to it. Don’t Let anyone come tell you how to make your cup of tea because you might not like the consequences.

Never Try this
