International Yoga Day: Indian PM Narendra Modi Performs Yoga

The whole world is observing International Yoga Day as celebrities and people of importance practice Yoga with the people. The practice of Yoga is considered to be one of the healthiest exercises for physical and mental growth. India is renowned for its inclination towards yoga. Indian Prime Minister Narendra convinced the United Nations back in 2015 to declare June 21 as International Yoga day.

Narendra Modi performed Yoga for nearly 20 minutes this morning in drizzle at Lucknow ‘s Ambedkar Sabha Sthal. The Indian Prime Minister led thousands of people during the celebration of world Yoga Day. The Prime Minister’s participation in the Yoga is a positive sign in India to support the mental and physical balance and health.  He was dressed in a white T-shirt and loose white trousers as he shared the stage in Lucknow with Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath as the two performed yoga. On the other hand, in Ahmedabad, BJP chief Amit Singh and yoga teacher Ramdev led celebrations and about 5 lakh people turned out to do yoga at 5:30 in morning.

The Prime Minister who had participated in celebrations in Delhi in 2015 and Chandigarh in 2016 has attracted to three generations of families to perform Yoga together. It rained in Delhi too as hundreds and thousands had umbrellas and came in rain coats to do yoga. Moreover, the Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu Vijay Goel, Chief Minister, Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, Arvind Kejriwal and the BJP’s presidential nominee, Ram Nath Kovind were alsingo seen celebrating.
