What a comeback year it is for Roger Federer, as he beat long-term rival Rafael Nadal in Miami Final. With a straight set victory of 6-3 6-4, Federer has now won three major titles this year.
It always tough when two greats battle for the title as the crowd enjoyed Federer vs. Nadal. The resurgence of the two is commendable and has proved why they are still the best.
This marks the official end of his comeback as Federer respond: “The comeback is over. Still a comeback year, but I did say that until Miami, it was going to be still [a lot of] learning. It’s been a dream run on the court — off the court as well. My body has reacted very well, and I couldn’t be happier.”
Federer also announced that he will take 8 week break from the tour. This means we won’t see him in any clay-court events until French Open.
Seems like Federer knows that one needs to take rest to sustain in the longer run as he sets his eyes on Wimbledon.
