Roger Federer is having a great year after winning Wimbledon for the 8th time and his 2nd grand slam of the year. And he is again in the news for making it to the list of Sports Illustrated ‘Fashionable 50’. He has been joined by the likes of Serena Williams, Tom Brady, Cristiano Ronaldo, Lewis Hamilton and Dwyane Wade.
This is not the first time that the Swiss has made it to the list. His style quotient has always been among the best and that is why he is ranked at No. 4. Sports Illustrated commented: “A 19-time Grand Slam champion, 35-year-old Federer keeps getting better with age. His timeless style extends to his looks on and off the court, but he really excels in classic pieces, such as blazers and slim suits. Lately, he’s been taking risks with these staples, adding in different fabrics, textures and designs, including a Gucci tuxedo with an embroidered crystal king cobra at the 2017 Met Gala.”
Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova and Cristiano Ronaldo were ranked at 3rd, 10th and 11th position respectively. Russell Westbook was voted as the most fashionable sportsman of the year.
Each year, Sports illustrated reveals the list of ‘Fashionable 50’ where the sportsman are judged not just on their looks but their presence on different events, social media and endorsements.
