Women are the most neglected segment in our tech industry but Circle Pakistan wants to change that. In order to encourage women entrepreneurs, Circle welcomed all tech startups to participate in the demo day for their upcoming event ‘She Loves Tech’ at the Nest I/O on Thursday.
Sadaffe Abid, Circle’s Cofounder, welcomed the tech startups and shared her experience in working towards social entrepreneurship in Pakistan. She emphasized that ‘Women are resourceful, responsible and creative’ and have the potential to compete against men in the tech industry.
Jehan Ara, president of Pakistan Software Houses Association for IT and ITES (P@sha), kicked off the session and shared her experience with the audience. She emphasized why women are more capable and competent than men and appreciated Circle’s effort to empower women.
The session included three workshops on pitching strategies, business plans and entrepreneurial issues. In the first session, Raza Matin, Marketing Consultant at Google Pakistan briefed the audience on different types of pitches and how to carry out a successful pitch.
In other workshops, Samara Faisal, Growth Professional at TMT Industries, mentored the startups on making a successful pitch.
At the end of the session, Sadaffe announced the 11 shortlisted candidates that include SheKab, Qayyam, ELN, Trash It, Mera Paisa, Kafayak, DoctHers, IoTa, Aurat Raj, Community Innovation Hub and Edvon.
