Football fans are in for a ride in China as a group of Chinese firms are set to take on Disneyland by opening an amusement park themed on Barcelona’s great, Lionel Messi. The park will be known as the Messi Experience Park will have more than 20 sites of attraction, which is situated at more than 80,000sq meters in Nanjing, eastern China. The amusement park is set to open in early 2019 and will be facilitating augmented and virtual reality technologies to offer football training clinics, displays and activities of Messi’s career highlights.
The Argentine goal-scoring machine stated that he hoped that the attraction would be able to increase the number of children taking interest in football. He added that he hoped to provide them the experience they never had before and to become a source of inspiration to pick the spot early on. Messi hopes that the theme park will give children the feel as if he is around. The Argentine legend will be looked upon in the FIFA World Cup 2018, as the victory would seal his legend and make him by far the greatest player of his generation and football fraternity.
The park will comprise 46,000sq meters of indoor facilities along with 12,000sq meters of “garden game areas” with a public space of 25,000sq meters. This further cements the popularity of Lionel Messi as one of the greatest football players of all time. The five time Ballon d’Or finished the season with 54 goals in 52 games. However, Barcelona was not able to secure a spot in the Champions league final on Saturday. The club looks to turn around the tides with Barcelona’s new coach Ernesto Valverde. Messi said that he does not know the coach’s achievements but does not know him personally. He added that once he gets to know him, his aim is to always have more achievements and win more titles.
